To complicate things further, cloture on 9-11 responders failed by 57-42. Republicans are not willing to let anything go till Tax cuts bill is undertaken.
The breaking news is the House Democrats have decided not to undertake Tax cut bill in the House, meaning the new tax cut deal announced by the President will not hold good anymore.

Since my current EAD is expiring Sep 10th, I'm planning to go to the local USCIS office for an interim EAD in first week of Sep.
What is the procedure, do i need to take infopass or any other apoointment or just walk in with papers ?
It's not yet been 90 days since i filed, but i still want to give it a shot. I plan to take a letter from my employer saying without interim EAD (without me being able to work) company would face a setback in a critical phase of project.
I also plan to use such a letter in support of an expedite request.
Gurus please advice:
- How soon should I fax expedite request?
- How soon/late should i go to local USCIS office for interim EAD?
- Could one interfere the other?

As for as I know USCIS local office has stopped issuing interim EAD some where from 2006.
The only option we have is to request for expedite process which we can do by calling the USCIS customer service number. This you can get it in the USCIS website.
I think we can get the infopass only if 90 days has passed or if your EAD is going to expire soon and you need immediate attention.

You cannot jump to EAD unless you file ur wife I-485 . Before that if you jump to EAD , your wife has to leave the country as she become out of status as you are no more on H1b.

Wow. I first got a computer when I was :::thinking::: 14 (?)

thanks a lot. that seems like a good idea. My CL is 10k on one CC and 12k on the other one but I will call my bank and request a raise and then do a balance transfer of as much as I can get.
If you have more than one CC from the same institution let's say you have 3 CCs from BOA 1. AMEX 2. VISA 3. MC you can pool all the CLs together under one card which has the lowest interest rate and make a balance transfer from that CC. This will give you more edge. Ask the customer service for more details.

I don't have copy of I140 . My H1B extension is based on I485 is bending more than 1 year. (If your 485 is pending more than 1 year then you will get one year H1 extension but some how i got 3 years)). Did you file your 485?

Guys..i have noticed that so many other members has already been complained about the getting Red dots for no reason...i got the red for this post for just a spell mistake. This is too much and IV has to do some thing about this. Otherwise people will afraid or not be willing to post their opinions here...

Why do you put so much emphasis on a trivial and meaningless thing such as keeping tabs on red/green dots. Yes, I am also going through the same process. But if you pay off everything, you have to pay 2% of your loan amount as penalty fee.
So, I am advised, that we can just keep the last 13months EMI, and pay off the remaining to avoid that 2% fee And let the 13months EMI be paid normally.
Its same for every bank in India.
